2 games to track this weekend if you believe the Wizards can make the play-in tournament
Wizards Newswire
The Wizards finally broke their 4 game losing stream with a win against the San Antonio Spurs on Friday night. The Spurs are the third worst team in the league, but the fact that the Wizards pulled off the win with out Beal or Kuzma what makes this victory slightly more impressive.
With only 8 games left I the regular season, Washington remains in the 12 seed in the East but still have chance to make the play-in tournament. The Wizards play the 9 seeded Raptors Sunday night and with a win will improve their record to 34-41.
Here's where things currently stand:
Here are the game you should be monitoring this weekend that will impact the Wizards play-in hopes...
Saturday
Pacers vs Hawks : The 11th seeded Pacers are coming off a tough loss against the Celtics in TD Garden on Friday night which means they should be tired in the second leg of their back-to-back match-up tonight against the Hawks in Atlanta. A loss by the Pacers tonight will push Wizards into the 11th seed. The season series between these two teams is split 1-1.
Sunday
Bulls vs Lakers: The Bulls will be coming off a day of rest after easily beating the Blazers on Friday night in Portland. The Lakers are coming off a strong win against the OKC on Friday night where Anthony Davis had 37 points. The Lakers are also fighting for the 8th seed in the East to gain home court advantage so the Bulls may be in trouble.
Assuming everything goes well for the Wizards with losses by the Pacers and Bulls and Washington getting a win against Toronto, we could end up in the 11th seed 1 game behind the Bulls by Sunday night.
