We hope you are all enjoying some of these awesome playoff series going on right now. Don't worry, hopefully next year under the leadership of a new GM the Wizards may be able to make to the first round at least (fingers crossed).

In the mean time, here are six key dates for Wizards fans to mark on their calendars that will impact how we fare next season:

  1. NBA Draft Lottery - May 16th (8:30 p.m. ET) - The NBA Draft Lottery is when teams and fans find out which pick their team has in the top-14 of the 2023 NBA Draft. The Wizards finished the 2022-23 season with a 35-47 record, and they now have the 8th-best chances to land the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft (6.7%). They also have a 29% chance to land a top-4 pick.

  2. NBA Combine - May 15-21 - The NBA Combine is a multi-day event where some draft prospects compete in various competitions, drills and tests in front of general managers, scouts and coaches across the league.

  3. NBA Draft - June 22 - The NBA Draft is when teams select players to join their respective franchises. The Wizards will have three picks in the 2023 Draft, including their lottery pick, and two picks in the second round.

  4. Free Agency Negotiation Process Begins - June 30 (6:00 p.m. ET) - This is when teams can engage in discussions with players and agents.

  5. Free Agency Begins - July 6 (12:01 p.m. ET) - This is when players can officially sign deals.

  6. NBA Summer League - July 7-17 - NBA Summer League is a time for teams' recent draft picks, young talent and guys trying to make an NBA roster to showcase their skills in front of packed gyms in Las Vegas.

The Wizards will be looking to improve on their 35-47 record from the 2022-23 season, and these events will play a crucial role in shaping their roster for the upcoming season.
